Poach® is a software company founded by Joel Cheesman. We believe high-quality market insight and recruitment intelligence should be available to every recruiter and employer ... not just corporate behemoths and those with huge budgets.
Joel Cheesman, Poach's founder, isn't building the world's most potent poaching machine alone. Not even close. He has a merry band of developers, working 'round the clock to bring this all together and continue to move it forward. They aren't listed here, because, well, they'd probably get poached (see what we did there?).
Joel Cheesman has over 20 years experience in the online recruitment space. He worked for both international and local job boards in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s. In 2005, Cheesman founded HRSEO, a search engine marketing company for HR, as well as launching an award-winning industry blog called Cheezhead. He has been featured in Fast Company and US News and World Report. He sold his company in 2009 to Jobing.com. He is the founder of Ratedly, an app that monitors anonymous employee reviews. He is co-host of The Chad & Cheese Podcast. He is married and the father of three children, and lives in Indianapolis.
At its core, recruitment is a people business. Probably always will be. However, there is little pushback that technology is making the profession smarter, nimbler and well, just better. As such, Poach aims to help support this trend by helping recruiters better understand worker sentiment at competitive businesses.
Timing is everything, and recruitment is no different. We don't believe that poaching is a dirty word. Instead, we consider it to be a sound strategy for winning the War for Talent. Let's be honest, everyone does it. And the smarter it becomes the better off our customers will be.
Poach is not seeking to raise capital and we won't be looking at M&A opportunities anytime soon. Oh, and we’re not currently hiring (not until we’re profitable with what we've already built).
We do our best to make our product really easy to understand and use, but we're here to help.
